A psychological consultation is a process in which a patient meets with a psychologist to receive support, a diagnosis, and, if necessary, a referral for further therapy or to other specialists.
Before psychotherapy begins, three consultation sessions are held to initially identify the focus and goals of the therapeutic work and determine how to work together.
Cognitive behavioral therapy session

Cognitive behavioral therapy (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, CBT) is a therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and modifying maladaptive patterns of thinking and behavior. The basic idea behind CBT is that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are closely interconnected, and a change in one of these areas can lead to a change in the others.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, ACT) is a form of behavioral therapy that emphasizes accepting difficult emotions and thoughts, and committing to actions that are consistent with personal values. ACT is based on six core processes: acceptance, defusion (distancing oneself from thoughts), being present, self-as-context, values, and committed action. The aim of this therapy is to increase psychological flexibility, allowing people to live fuller and more satisfying lives despite difficult experiences.
Functional analysis of behavior (Functional Analytic Psychotherapy, FAP) focuses on the therapeutic relationship as a key element of the therapeutic process. The therapist observes the patient's behavior during sessions and analyzes its function—that is, the consequences the behavior produces. FAP helps patients understand and change maladaptive behavioral patterns by reinforcing more beneficial behaviors in the therapeutic context. This therapy uses the principles of operant conditioning to promote change in the patient's everyday life.
Dialectical behavior therapy (Dialectical Behavior Therapy, DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy developed by Marsha M. Linehan, primarily to treat people with borderline personality disorder. DBT combines behavioral techniques with acceptance and mindfulness strategies, enabling work on emotional regulation, improving interpersonal skills, distress tolerance, and increasing mindfulness. This therapy consists of four main modules: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.
